“Like glass tumbled in the tide, Amy shines not despite the waves, but because of them.”
I met Amy Sobesky at an ecstatic dance at the Somatic Wisdom Institute, where we connected over abstract movement. We didn’t need words—just the language of bodies in motion, exploring space together without needing a partner. Amy has carried dance in her bones since childhood, but her path was rerouted after a devastating car accident nearly took it away. Years of recovery brought her back, and now she moves with tenderness, precision, and depth—a survivor who shines in every gesture.
Health and wellness coach, activist, environmentalist—Amy is a woman of many callings. She blends massage, meditation, and yoga into her practice while also helping facilitate ecstatic dances throughout West Michigan. Watching her hold space for others feels like watching sea glass scatter sunlight: soft, resilient, and luminous.
We photographed at The Highlands at sunset, among tall grasses and trees. Amy moved like water in the wind, flowing, growing, delicate yet strong. The Sea Glass shade—soft green touched with blue—fit her perfectly, wrapping her in calm sweetness. She didn’t just wear the color. She embodied it.

Symbolism
Sea Glass symbolizes resilience through transformation. Like shards softened by years of waves, it speaks of pain reshaped into beauty, fragility turned into strength. It reminds us that healing is not linear—it’s an alchemy of patience, persistence, and grace.

Psychology
Psychologically, this shade resonates with those reclaiming confidence after loss or setback. It nurtures gentleness toward the self and restores the courage to be seen. Sea Glass is a balm for those learning to embrace vulnerability as part of their power.

Energetics
Sea Glass aligns with the heart and throat chakras, offering calm clarity and honest expression. It clears emotional waters while inviting connection, truth-telling, and trust in the flow of life.

Somatics
Somatically, this color can feel like an exhale after tension, a softening of the chest, or the ease of moving through water. It supports movement that is fluid rather than forced. Wearing Sea Glass can make you feel both grounded and gently lifted—held by earth, touched by tide.
Sea Glass is the reminder that beauty often comes from what has been reshaped. If this is your color, you may be learning to flow with what life has given you, to embrace softness as resilience, and to step back into the dance of your own becoming.
